ACTION VILLAGE INDIA
This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 14 April 2008. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does
Action Village India provides long term support to six Gandhian organisations, all engaged in rural develpment work in India. All the projects Action Village India supports are devised and managed by the partners themselves. By improving living conditions for the disdvantaged in the areas where they work, they aim to provide people with their own homes rather than migrating to the cities.
In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.
About this record
From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
