HOME-START ELY
This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 1 February 2012. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does
Home-Start Ely/Caerau's aim is to offer friendship and support to families who have at least one child under the age of five who are experiencing stress/difficulties of some kind in their lives. Volunteers who join the scheme attend a preparation course. The course runs once a week for 10 weeks. Volunteers are then matched with a family whom they offer support and friendship to on a weekly basis.
In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.
About this record
From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
