THE SIR WILLIAM LUCE MEMORIAL FUND TRUST

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 29 October 2024. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

To stimulate research, discussion and publications about the areas of the Middle East in which Sir William Luce served, in particular the Gulf states, southern Yemen and Sudan and to support the Sir William Luce annual Fellowship at Durham University for the study of these areas. The aim is to increase understanding in Britain and internationally of development and change in these areas.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
