THE AVENUES BICYCLE PROJECT

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 7 February 2020. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

We collect unwanted bikes, tools and spares and recycle them in the following ways:1) Our aim is to send a container of up to 400 refurbished bikes a year to West Africa. 2) Before shipping a bike to West Africa, we have them refurbished at local prison workshops.3) Bikes that are not suitable for refurbishment at the prisons are given to Push Iron, a Hull Youth Development Service project.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
