THE SAM WATSON REST HOME

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 17 June 2009. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

The objects of the charity are to provide a convalescent home for persons who are employed in or about coal mines or otherwise employed in the British Coal Corporation. Also for persons who have ceased to be so employed by reason of age or disability or who have not subsequently changed their occupation and the dependants of any such persons.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
