NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE COUNCIL FOR VOLUNTARY SERVICE
This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 26 March 2012. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does
At the beginning of the year the assets were transferred to the new charitable company. This is Newcastle Council for Voluntary Service charity number 1125877. This left only the permanent endowment, the Rose Joicey Fund, in operation making small grants to needy individuals and groups towards holidays. This endowment will be transferred to the Community Foundation, (Tyne Wear and Northumberland).
In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record
