The Charity is constituted by a trust deed of 10 December 1956 to provide funds for the charitable objectives of the Cathedral Church of St James, Bury St Edmunds (''St Edmundsbury Cathedral'') and in particular, for the enlargement, restoration and repair of the Cathedral.
