THE BRITISH URUGUAYAN SOCIETY
This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 23 December 2019. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does
The object of the Society is to advance the education of Britons about Uruguay and of Uruguayans about the United Kingdom, in each case its people, history and culture; the Society promotes lectures and functions in the U.K and makes grants and scholarships available to British schools in Montevideo and other scholastic institutions in Uruguay to promote the objects of the Society.

About this record
From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
