THE SIR JOHN FISHER FOUNDATION

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 15 May 2025. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

The Sir John Fisher Foundation gives grants to charitable causes in the areas of maritime, medical, education, music, arts and the community. Generally grants are given to organisations based in and working for the benefit of people living in and around Barrow-In-Furness and the surrounding area, but in addition maritime, medical research and musical causes are, in some cases, supported nationally

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
