CAMBRIDGE UNION SOCIETY
This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 5 July 2011. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does
We are a student debating and public speaking society. We organise and run the largest schools debating competition throughout the UK. Schools that have limited financial resources have the cost of their teams entrance, travel and accommodation paid for by the Union. As Cambridge University's largest society we provide free rooms and facilities to other societies.
In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.
About this record
From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
