LEAGUE OF FRIENDS OF THE ERNEST GARDINER TREATMENT CENTRE
This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 31 March 2026. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does
With the closure of the treatment centre, the charity in no longer required. The Trustees have agreed to use the balance of funds available, to support other local groups and charities who seek to deliver the same aims as the EGTC. This will be in the form of grants, and when the funds are exhausted the charity will be closed. There will be no more fund raising.
In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.
About this record
From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
