THE BURNINGHAM TRUST

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 9 August 2012. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

The Burningham Trust was created for "ecclesiastical & charitable pastoral purposes" for the benefit of the village of Knodishall, Suffolk. Effectively the managing trustees may use funds for ecclesicastical purposes of the parish or they may use the funds for charitable pastoral purposes of the parish or a combination of both.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
