FRIENDS OF BIRMINGHAM SCHOOLS' ORCHESTRAS
This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 30 September 2017. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does
FBSO is the Parents' Association for Birmingham Music Service Central Ensembles. The Friends meets the costs of folders, concert regalia/equipment, events, soloist fees and confidential subsidies for children whose personal circumstances may prevent attendance on concert trips. Funds are raised by supplying refreshments at rehearsals and concerts, along with a voluntary annual subscription.
In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.
About this record
From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
