VOLUNTARY ACTION WAKEFIELD DISTRICT
This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 30 September 2013. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does
The key purpose of VAWD is to grow the capacity of the local voluntary sector across the Wakefield district in partnership with other organisations. Capacity is defined as the level of activity and strength of influence of this sector at all levels across the WM District, relative to the size of populatiion and regional and national patterns of voluntary activity.
In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.
About this record
From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
