THE ANKER'S HOUSE MUSEUM LIMITED

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 14 December 2012. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

Small museum open to the public. This museum was an Anchorite cell in the 13th Century. It is attached to the Parish Church of St. Mary & St. Cuthbert Chester-le-Street. The museum gives a brief history of the Anchorite cell and also contains some Roman relics found in the vicinity of the museum.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
