THE JOHN OWEN TRUST

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 6 April 2016. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

This trust was started as a vehicle through which I John Owen could give some of the money I received as Dean of Arches to individual churches with which I was connected. I ceased to be Dean of Arches in 2000. Later it was used to enable my daughter Melissa Knatchbull to stage a play at a women's prison. The trust now supports theatre projects that needs funding.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
