THE FURNITURE SCHEME RICHMOND UPON THAMES

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 18 October 2010. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

The charity accepts donations of furniture in good condition from the general public and others making this primarily available to people in need at minimal cost - though now also open to the general public so as to encourage more reuse of furniture and household items. It offers a training scheme for young people in basic carpentry skills with an emphasis on refurbishment and recycling.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers.
