WOODBRIDGE WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 5 October 2011. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

THE IDEALS OF THE WOMENS INSTITUTE OF TRUTH, JUSTICE, TOLERANCE AND FRIENDSHIP ARE AS STRONG AND IMPORTANT NOW IN THE 21ST CENTURY AS THEY WERE AT THE BIRTH OF THE WI IN 1915. THE WI IS THE LARGEST VOLUNTARY WOMENS ORGANISATION IN THE UK. IT EXISTS TO EDUCATE WOMEN TO ENABLE THEM TO PROVIDE AN EFFECTIVE ROLE IN THE COMMUNITY, TO EXPAND THEIR HORIZONS AND TO DEVELOP AND PASS ON IMPORTANT SKILLS.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
