SHEFFIELD INDUSTRIAL MUSEUMS TRUST LIMITED

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 23 January 2025. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

SIMT's main aim is the preservation and interpretation of the industrial heritage of Sheffield and its environs for the public benefit and educational purposes. The Trust manages two sites in Sheffield: Kelham Island Museum and Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet. The former is the city's industrial museum and the latter is a restored water-powered works dating from the 18th Century.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers.
