STEVENAGE GEMMS (GROUPS OF ELDERLY PEOPLE MEETING SOCIALLY)

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 17 September 2024. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

GEMMS is a small local charity providing clubs on Monday and Friday mornings for older people, suffering with cognitive impairment, giving respite to their carers. GEMMS can possibly provide transport to a community centre where the people can participate in games, quizzes and exercises. A lunch is laid on then they are transported back to their homes.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
