VICTIM SUPPORT NORTHUMBRIA

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 18 June 2009. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

Victim Support provides emotional and practical help to victims and witnesses of crime and their families. Support is provided through trained volunteers and staff who work in community based branches and within the witness service, which is present in Newcastle Crown Court and in every Magistrates Court throughout Northumbria.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
