THAMES BOATS TRUST

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 7 September 2017. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

The ultimate object of the Trustees is to establish a River Thames Heritage Centre on a site by the Upper Thames. The Trust recently purchased the Thames Steam Launch "Cygnet" built in 1870 by J I Thornycroft. "Cygnet" is unique in that it is the only historical small steam river launch from the 1870's which has retained originality of build. "Cygnet" will be retained in this original condition.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
