A.S.A.P. - AIDS SUPPORT AWARENESS PROJECT

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 24 February 2022. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

We make linguistically correct, culturally aware, health education DVD's which are shown to remote rural communities using portable DVD players by volunteer field workers whom we train. We aid former sex workers to seek an alternative life by helping them to start their own business. This is done via the donation of sewing machines, bicycles and wedding dresses that can then be rented or sold.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
