EMMAUS BURNLEY
This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 30 October 2023. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does
Emmaus offers homeless people a place to be safe and secure where they can enjoy companionship, the support of a community and advice. Everyone is accepted for who they are now, not judged on what they might have been. Emmaus is a social enterprise and everyone living in a community signs off benefit to work within their ability in the community's charitable business.
In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.
About this record
From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
