THE ACCESS PROJECT
This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 21 January 2015. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does
The Access Project helps motivated students from disadvantaged backgrounds win places at top universities. We do this by matching students with a graduate who they see for an hour's weekly tutorial, and by organising for economists, authors and others to run weekly workshops which students choose according to their interests. We also take students on trips to universities and foreign countries.
In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.
About this record
From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
