MERCHANTS AGAINST POVERTY & SICKNESS

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 25 April 2014. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

The Trustees have commissioned the development of a new e-commerce website to assist with fundraising. The charity also sponsored an eye clinic in Karachi, Pakistan where 500 patients were treated for an array of conditions such as cataracts, infections, eye correction prescriptions, free reading glasses etc. The eye clinic was organised with a local charity called Maximizers.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
