THE ISLAND AND ROYAL MANOR OF PORTLAND HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION (INCORPORATING THE FRIENDS OF PORTLAND MUSEUM)
This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 21 January 2015. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does
To further our charitable purposes for public benefit by establishment of drop-in centre where members of local community could record and research topics of local heritage, culture and environment interests.Failure to obtain Heritage Lottery funding caused withdrawal from drop-in centre and disposal of surplus equipment.
In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.
About this record
From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
