STROKE SUPPORT GROUP (WINCHESTER AND DISTRICT)

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 1 December 2019. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

The group brings together people who have had a stroke to share experiences and learn new ways of coping with the challenges of everyday life. It meets on Monday afternoons and offers varied, volunteer-led activities (music, keep-fit, computer skills) and visiting speakers, a friendly chat and a cup of tea. Members are encouraged to participate actively and to improve their communication skills.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
