THE DOUGLAS HAIG FELLOWSHIP

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 3 December 2018. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

The Douglas Haig Fellowship encourages academic study of Field Marshal Earl Haig of Bemersyde and the armies he commanded in the Great War 1914-18. Each year it publishes a scholarly publication, makes an award to a post graduate student, appoints a Haig Fellow and holds two luncheon meetings. The Fellowship also fulfils a Commemorative Object, keeping a watching brief on statues & memorials.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
