THE ALGERNON TRUST
This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 6 September 2021. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does
The Algernon Trust re-homes cats and dogs where possible although many of the cats taken in are sick and/or elderly and need to remain at the Sanctuary for the rest of their days. The Algernon Trust provides a wildlife rescue service 24 hours a day 52 weeks a year. In addition to membership and donations, fundraising activities to fund the Sanctuary are carried out.
In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.
About this record
From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
