CHRISTOPHER MARLOWE STATUE COMMITTEE

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 20 December 2024. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

The charity Christopher Marlowe Statue Committee is based in Canterbury and its aim is to raise funds to erect a statue of Christopher Marlowe, Canterbury's most famous son, the Elizabethan playwright and poet, in the centre of the city. There it will become a focus for performances and group activities dedicated to informing the public of the beauty and relevance of his works.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.
