HUNTINGDONSHIRE CONSTABULARY WIDOWS AND ORPHANS BENEVOLENT FUND

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 23 May 2011. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

The object of the charity is the relief of indegence and all income from the fund is applied solely to this object. In order to achieve this, where necessary, the trustees may, after due enquiry pay widows, so long as she not remarry, a sum as is decided by the members at their AGM.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers.
