THE SPALDING TRUSTS
This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 13 May 2021. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does
Grants, sometimes up to 2k, are awarded to enable graduate students and others from anywhere in the world to study a religion other than their own or to study religion from a comparative perspective at academic institutions. Grants may be awarded for travel either to conferences or to study a religion in the country where it is practised. A few have been made to support library resources.
In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.
Linked charities
Separate trusts that report through this charity and share its number. An old endowment often has several.
About this record
From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
