THE JOSEPH ROWNTREE FOUNDATION

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 27 March 2020. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

JRF funds social research and development in the UK. It works with Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust to provide evidence, solutions and ideas that will help overcome the causes of poverty, disadvantage and social evil. Our purpose is to search, demonstrate and influence by undertaking programmes of work on social policy issues with emphasis on work and worth, the places people live and relationships.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.
