HALL BENEFACTION

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 8 January 2020. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

The Hall Benefaction exists for making grants to persons of the professional or middle classes or trades people residing within the districts of the Barnard Castle Town and Teesdale District Councils who, owing to misfortune, are in adversity or in poor and straitened circumstances. The trustees will therefore need to know their occupation or previous occupation.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers.
