LADY BARNARD MEMORIAL FUND

This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 12 August 2011. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does

Beneficiaries must be persons (children, young people or older people) who are sick and impecunious and who reside within the districts of the Barnard Castle Town and Teesdale District councils. The trustees need to know the applicant's age, address, occupation and/or former occupation, whether living alone and whether in receipt of benefits. One-off grants of up to -ú50 are paid.

In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.

About this record

From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
