NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE AGED FEMALE SOCIETY
This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 20 November 2024. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does
This Charity was founded in 1835. Its aim is to assist Widows and Spinsters over 65 living in Newcastle upon Tyne with a monthly allowance. All applicants must be in receipt of Social Security allowances. Each recipient is visited each month to see that personally that any gifts there may be for the recipients are duly delivered to those under their care.
In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.
About this record
From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
