THE BECKLY TRUST (KNOWN AS THE J H BECKLY HANDICAPPED AND SICK CHILDREN'S FUND)
This charity is no longer on the register, removed on 13 April 2022. A removal is usually a charity that wound up, merged, or fell below the income threshold, and is not in itself a finding against anyone — but an appeal still quoting this number today is quoting a charity the Commission no longer registers.

What it does
The Beckly Trust is a trust set up by the Will of J H Beckly to provide for "such of the neediest children of Plymouth and the District of Caradon as are crippled, sick or otherwise disabled". Grants may be made to individual applicants from Plymouth and East Cornwall, but generally the trust supports Plymouth charities providing for disabled or disadvantaged children.
In the charity's own words, as filed with the Commission.
About this record
From the Charity Commission's register of England and Wales, republished nightly under the Open Government Licence. The Commission does not regulate Scotland or Northern Ireland, which keep their own registers. Figures are as the charity last filed them, not as audited by us — browse the whole register, including the charities removed from it.
